It is often referred to as the \u201cJewel of Kedah\u201d for the numerous tourist attractions that the island has for its visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Underwater World<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The 15-meter walkthrough glass tunnel gets visitors up and close to the various sea-creatures like Sharks, Turtles, Stingrays, and numerous colorful fishes. Apart from these, the Underwater World has over 500 species of sea creatures, which include Seals, Sea horses, Mandarin Ducks, Flamingos, Penguins, etc. The place is only 15-minutes away from the Langkawi Airport and hence can be visited straight after arrival or just before boarding the flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Underwater World operates between 9:30 AM \u2013 6:30 PM on Mondays to Thursdays and from 9:30 AM to 10:30 PM on Fridays to Sundays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Sky Bridge<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The 124-meter long Sky Bridge over lush green forest cover gives a beautiful aerial view of Langkawi. The bridge is 700 meters above sea-level and can be reached only through a cable car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bridge is open from Monday to Saturday and remains closed on Sunday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, the bridge remains open from 10:00 AM-7:00 PM, on Wednesday from noon -7:00 PM and on Friday and Saturday: 9:30 AM-7:00 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Paradise 3D Museum<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This fantastic museum with more than 200 artworks is divided into nine zones. The 3D artworks create an optical illusion and give a real effect on being photographed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The museum is open on all the 7-days of the week from 9 AM-6 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Wildlife Park and Bird Paradise<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The park houses beautiful birds and exotic bird species. Apart from the 2500 birds of over 150 species, which makes the place even more fun and exciting are the walk-in aviary and a human-made waterfall, which falls from a height of 15-meters.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The park is open on all seven days of the week between 8:30 AM-6:00 PM. To make it more interesting for the visitors, there are animal feeding sessions daily between 11 AM-4 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Pulau Payar Marine Park<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a haven for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. The Coral Garden is the best feature of this marine park and has the most popular dive point of about 15 meters. Other than this, there are about 15 more diving points around the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Dataran Lang<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Also known as the Eagle Square, Dataran Lang is an iconic landmark. It is a 12-meter tall Eagle sculpture placed on top of an elevated platform. What makes the place more impressive is its proximity to many of the sites of tourist interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Taman Lagenda<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is an open-air garden museum that houses 17 beautiful sculptures of heroes, mythological figures, and even evil monsters. Visitors can go around the museum either on foot or on a buggy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taman Lagenda is open on all days of the week from 9 AM to 7 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Galeria Perdana<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>One of a kind, the museum was started by the ex-Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohammad. The items on display are the things that were presented to him and his wife during his tenure as the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The museum opens for the public between 8:30 AM-5:30 AM and 8:30 AM-6:00 PM on public and school holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Getting Around the Island<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Being a small island, it certainly cannot be explored around on foot.<\/li><li>Bicycles or scooters on rent are the best way to go around the island.<\/li><li>Although on the steeper side, visitors can take taxis on hire.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As for traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi, you can take a bus from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan to Kuala Perlis, which takes about 7-8 hours. From the Kuala Perlis Jetty, visitors can take a 15-minute jetty ride. To avoid queues and unnecessary hassles, buy an online bus<strong> <\/strong>ticket. Visitors can also take a flight from KLIA2 save on travel time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Accommodation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Accommodation is not a problem in Langkawi Islands since there are numerous hotels and resorts to suit every pocket. The tariff of a budget Langkawi hotel can be quite nominal. On the other hand, the tariff of a five-star Langkawi hotel can be quite steep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Traveling Tips&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Travel between islands in a ferry instead of hiring a boat to save money.<\/li><li>The employees of the Langkawi hotel you are staying in may be fluent in English but not everybody.
