The Cameron Highlands is a district in Malaysia located in the Pahang area. It is a well-known tourist attraction in the country known for its pleasant weather, tea estates, orchards, waterfalls, lakes, rivers, wildlife, and more. The rolling hills of tea gardens make up most of the Cameron Highlands. Kampung Raja, Tringkap, Brinchang, Tanah Rata and Ringlet are the towns that lie within it. The British style bungalows and buildings in this region tell visitors about its captivating colonial past.

Places of Tourist Interest in Cameron Highlands

The region is much recognized for its tea plantations and the flavors of Malaysian tea. It is also famous for Mossy Forest, the Rafflesia tour, strawberry farms, Rose Garden, Cactus valley, and a Chinese temple.

Mossy Forest

An early morning visit to the Moss Forest, also known as the Cloud Forest, is a must. Situated at the slopes of Mount Brinchang, the place looks surreal as it is engulfed with mist at this time of the day. As the mist disappears, the moss-covered trees can be seen. The site also has Pitcher plants and White Orchids growing on tree barks.

BOH Tea Plantation

This place is a must for all the lovers of Malaysia tea. The site is a vast expanse of tea garden and offers extraordinary scenic beauty. Visitors who wish to know the history of the tea estate would do well to buy an online bus ticket Malaysia tour since a guide is usually provided. All days other than Monday are open for visitors at the Tea factory. The restaurant at the tea plantation is where visitors can enjoy a fresh cup of Malaysia tea along with a few confectionery items.

More visual treats of the tea garden await visitors at the second BOH Tea Estate. The Cameron Bharat Tea Estate, located to the south of Tanah Rata, is the only tea garden having scenic views.

Tanah Rata and Brinchang

After the tea garden visits, tourists can visit Tanah Rata and Brinchang, the main tourist hubs. The town of Tanah Rata is more popular among tourists since it has many good hotels, restaurants, shops, a pharmacy and a hospital. Since the places of tourist interests are far away from Tanah Rata, it is advisable to either hire a car or buy an online bus ticket Malaysia hill station region tour.

Brinchang is the highest town in the Cameron highland. It is the second largest after Tanah Rata. Apart from the Strawberry farms, the Bee Farms are another attraction for tourists in Brinchang.
