Experts are speculating that in the post-COVID 19 world, not only the travel industry would be hugely impacted, but also the way we travel would be much different than how it used to be. Countries around the world are, today, practicing social distancing, self-quarantine, and isolation, and traveling is the last thing people have in their minds. However, as COVID-19 eradicates from the world, traveling, especially international travel, would have a different face. Let’s take a look at some of the changes we may see in traveling after Coronavirus!

Physical distancing would be practiced while traveling.

Physical or social distancing is considered as the best way to prevent the spread of Coronavirus disease. And, even if Coronavirus disappears from the globe, physical distancing would remain, especially while traveling from one place to another. Several airlines have already announced ‘vacant middle seats.’ The same could be implemented in trains and bus travels after COVID-19.

Check-ins would need more than a passport

As soon as the novel Coronavirus began to spread in all corners of the world, all the major international airports started thermal screening for passengers and monitoring passengers with respiratory problems. Even if you choose traveling after Coronavirus, it’s likely that you may go through a screening test before checking in. There may also be questionnaires to answer, essential travel proofs, and self-declarations along with your passports.

You would prefer a bus or train than flying by plane

With fewer seats available, taking a plane ticket can be expensive for many. With closed windows and low temperatures, the chances of virus transmission are high. On the other hand, trains and non-AC buses have their windows open and are more environmentally friendly than air travel. On the other hand, trains and buses have to be less crowded to ensure secure travel.

Your luggage would look a little different.

What does typical luggage look like? Clothes, a pair of footwear, some snacks, and books? Well, the items in your suitcase are surely going to change a little in the post-Coronavirus era. We’re most likely to see a lot of people traveling with masks, hand sanitizers, soaps, gloves, and face wipes.

Fewer people at tourist destinations

Even if lockdowns around the globe are lifted and we start traveling after COVID-19, there would be certain limitations on ‘the number of visitors’. Now, these limitations may be implemented upon visa or visiting tickets, we don’t know! But the lesser crowd would also mean that you will be able to get the best of every tourist attraction.

There will be off-the-beaten paths.

To avoid the crowd and as strict visitor-limit might be imposed in the post-COVID period, people may be tempted to discover off-the-beaten paths. In place of visiting famous museums, architecture, and gardens, many wander-lust driven souls would like to discover a variety of hidden gems and hiking trails.

Trips would be more meaningful.

In simple words, you might need a strong ‘reason’ to travel. It’s true that to break the current state of confinement, traveling may act as an antidote in the after-Coronavirus time. But this travel would be more defined by a purpose. People would give importance to sustainable tourism, and as journeys would be fewer, each one would be a memorable one.

The Coronavirus pandemic has changed many things across the globe in a short span of time, traveling being the highly affected side. As we cross this pandemic-period and reach the other side, our new ‘normal’ would be different yet wiser, more responsible, and hopefully more positive. redBus, your best companion to book bus tickets online, wishes that Coronavirus disappears from the world soon, and you will be able to travel to all the lovely places again. Until then, stay home, stay safe!
